Probiotic therapy for irritable bowel syndrome


Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common disorder afflicting millions of people globally. Clinical studies conducted earlier included strains of Lactobacillusspecies,Bifidobacterium species, andPropionibacterium species along with different probiotics combinations such as VSL#3 and SCM-III. Based on the clinical evidences available till date it is very clear that probiotics have an emerging adjunctive therapeutic role in the treatment of IBS. Growing evidence determined effective role and importance of Bacillus infantis in becoming the frontrunner for the treatment of IBS. The treatment of specific symptoms and more of specifications is possible with little more clinical evidences that are required to be performed.
